In first grade, students learn how to use the elements of design (line, shape color, texture, color, and space) to create artwork. Students explore art materials, including oil pastels, watercolors, model magic clay, and collage.

Mixed Up Chameleon/Eric Carle

We read The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. We brainstormed, as a class, all of the different animals that might make up a mixed- up chameleon. Then, we created our own mixed up chameleon collage.
